Audits – Access & Evacuation

Our auditing services are twofold, On-site Audits and Desktop Audits to address both access and evacuation of staff and visitors with a disability.

On-site audits

On-site audits are performed on existing buildings or during construction phases and are conducted by Registered Access Consultants. Below outlines areas which are likely to be audited during an On-site audit.

  • External Environments and Approach
  • Doors
  • Horizontal Circulation
  • Vertical Circulation
  • Facilities
  • Sanitary Facilities
  • Means of Escape
  • Lighting
  • Acoustics
  • Finishes
  • Fixtures
  • Wayfinding
  • Information/communication

Desktop audits

Desktop audits are performed on concept, draft and detailed drawings. Utilising the latest technological programs ensures accuracy and compliance in attained.

Access Audits are undertaken to ensure accessible environments are provided where everyone can participate equally.

They examine all relevant site and building features. They detail how these may restrict access, and also suggest appropriate solutions. In the process, we always bear in mind the nature and size of your businesses and consider what would be ‘reasonable adjustments’ for your budget and particular building.

This sets out the work involved and indicates the level of priority for each task. This helps you budget and plan for current and anticipated changes so you can make informed decisions.
